Suraksha Clinic & Diagnostics has formally opened a new diagnostic centre in the Shyambazar locality of Kolkata as part of its ongoing network expansion across eastern India. The inauguration was led by local civic representative Dr. Minakshi Ganguly, in the presence of healthcare professionals, staff members, and other dignitaries  signalling community engagement and local support. 

At the Shyambazar facility, patients can access a wide array of diagnostic services: standard imaging (X-ray, ultrasound), cardiac diagnostics (ECG, ECHO), pulmonary function tests (PFT), routine pathology (blood tests), as well as outpatient consultation services (OPD). This expansion aims to bring comprehensive diagnostics closer to residents in North Kolkata, making health-check services more convenient and timely. 

The new centre adds momentum to Suraksha’s strategic growth: earlier this year the group launched one of Eastern India’s largest genomics labs with an initial investment of ₹ 22 crore, and plans are underway to invest an additional ₹ 46 crore over the next two years for further expansion. Alongside its 59 existing diagnostic centres and 166 sample collection centres across West Bengal, Bihar, Assam and Meghalaya, the Shyambazar addition strengthens Suraksha’s regional infrastructure for diagnostics and preventive care. 

In a statement, Suraksha emphasised that this centre is part of its commitment to making advanced diagnostic services accessible, affordable and patient-friendly  especially for underserved urban and semi-urban communities. The expansion aligns with growing demand for timely diagnostics and reflects broader efforts to decentralize medical testing away from large hospitals.
