Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Tokyo to pitch the YEIDA Medical Device Park to leading Japanese investors and medtech companies. The initiative aims to attract high-value investments in manufacturing, R&D, and innovation in medical devices, positioning Uttar Pradesh as a global hub for affordable, high-quality medtech production while leveraging Japanโ€™s expertise in precision engineering and advanced healthcare technologies.

During his Tokyo visit, CM Yogi Adityanath held high-level meetings with executives from major Japanese firms, highlighting the YEIDA Medical Device Parkโ€™s plug-and-play infrastructure, policy incentives, single-window clearances, and proximity to Delhi-NCR markets. The park offers dedicated zones for manufacturing, testing, R&D, and logistics, with promises of land subsidies, power incentives, and export facilitation. The pitch emphasizes mutual benefits: Japan gains access to Indiaโ€™s growing medtech market and cost-competitive manufacturing, while UP accelerates its ambition to become a leading medical device production centre.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath concluded a successful investment promotion visit to Tokyo, where he directly pitched the upcoming YEIDA Medical Device Park to senior executives from some of Japanโ€™s largest medtech and engineering companies. The high-level meetings, held on February 26โ€“27, 2026, focused on attracting Japanese investment and technology partnerships to establish Uttar Pradesh as a global hub for medical device manufacturing, research, and innovation.

The YEIDA Medical Device Park, located in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority region near Greater Noida, is being positioned as a world-class ecosystem with plug-and-play infrastructure, dedicated manufacturing zones, testing and certification labs, R&D centres, skill development facilities, and logistics support. CM Yogi highlighted the stateโ€™s investor-friendly policies, including land subsidies, power tariff concessions, stamp duty exemptions, single-window clearances through the Nivesh Mitra portal, and export facilitation under the UP Export Promotion Policy. He emphasized the parkโ€™s strategic location along the Yamuna Expressway, offering seamless connectivity to Delhi-NCR, major airports, and export gateways.

The Chief Minister presented the massive growth potential of Indiaโ€™s medical device market projected to reach $50 billion by 2030ย  and Uttar Pradeshโ€™s ambition to capture a significant share through the National Medical Devices Policy 2023 and PLI scheme incentives. He specifically invited Japanese companies to set up manufacturing units for high-end devices such as imaging equipment, surgical instruments, implants, diagnostics, and wearables, while also exploring joint R&D in areas like robotics, AI-integrated devices, and precision engineering. Several Japanese firms expressed keen interest in exploring long-term partnerships, technology transfer, and joint ventures, citing UPโ€™s improving ease of doing business ranking and large domestic market.

The visit included targeted B2B meetings, site presentations, and discussions with industry associations such as the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and major medtech players. CM Yogi Adityanath assured investors of full government support, transparent processes, and a stable policy environment to ensure successful project execution. The delegation also highlighted Uttar Pradeshโ€™s growing talent pool, skilled workforce availability, and proximity to leading research institutions as key advantages for R&D and innovation-led investments.

The Tokyo outreach is part of a broader international investment roadshow by the Uttar Pradesh government to position the state as a preferred destination for medtech and life sciences manufacturing. Officials expect the YEIDA Medical Device Park to attract โ‚น5,000โ€“10,000 crore in committed investments over the next 3โ€“5 years, creating tens of thousands of direct and indirect jobs while reducing Indiaโ€™s heavy reliance on imported medical devices.

โ€œUttar Pradesh offers the perfect combination of policy support, infrastructure, talent, and market scale. Japanese technology and Indian manufacturing can together create world-class medical devices that serve India and the world.โ€
