City Imaging & Clinical Labs has installed the VITROS 5600 Integrated System, a cutting-edge, fully automated platform that combines clinical chemistry and immunoassay testing in one system enabling up to 900 tests/hour, over 160 assays, and faster, more accurate diagnostics for patients.
Glimpse:
The new system processes both chemistry and immunoassay tests from a single sample tube, reducing manual handling and pre-analytical errors. It uses dry-slide chemistry and chemiluminescence detection to boost sensitivityΒ especially for hormone and immunoassay testsΒ while delivering results rapidly.
New Delhiβbased City Imaging & Clinical Labs (CICL) has unveiled the VITROS 5600 Integrated SystemΒ a next-generation diagnostic platform that aims to strengthen lab services in terms of reliability, throughput and quality.Β
What makes VITROS 5600 stand out: it merges clinical chemistry and immunoassay testing on a single automated platform, eliminating the need for separate instruments or multiple sample tubes. The system supports more than 160 different assaysΒ covering the vast majority of routine laboratory diagnosticsΒ and can handle up to 900 tests per hour, enabling rapid turnaround of patient reports.Β
The platform uses dry-slide technology (waterless chemistry) combined with chemiluminescence detection, which improves result stability, reduces interferences, and enhances sensitivityΒ especially important for immunoassays and hormone tests. Β By processing all tests from a single tube, the system reduces manual intervention, lowers risk of sample mishandling or cross-contamination, and decreases pre-analytic errors, adding to diagnostic reliability.Β
According to CICLβs leadership, this upgrade is aligned with their mission to provide βpatient-centric diagnosticsβΒ delivering dependable, high-quality, timely results to clinicians and patients alike.Β
This move also comes as part of CICLβs broader expansion plan: over the past year, they have grown hospital-laboratory-management (HLM) operations across multiple hospitals, and envisage extending services to many more by 2027.
βOur priority has always been to provide results that clinicians can trust. The VITROS 5600 gives us stronger accuracy, fewer interferences, and greater consistency across tests. Faster results are an added advantage that our patients will appreciate.β
