Lumov, a Bengaluru-based startup developing orthopedic recovery, rehabilitation and pain-management products, has closed a ₹ 10 crore (≈ US$ 1.2 M) seed funding round positioning itself to strengthen surgeon collaborations and scale up MSK product design tailored for Indian conditions.
Glimpse:
The investment will enable Lumov to broaden manufacturing, expand into major metros (Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Mumbai), build its sales and operations team, and accelerate development of clinically validated orthoses, braces and rehab aids. Their model integrates surgeon input to adapt products for Indian anatomy and environment a strategy seen by investors as a potential differentiator in the under-served MSK market.
Lumov founded by Saumaric Dangwal and Ankit Gupta has secured a seed-round funding of ₹ 10 crore (US$ 1.2 million), led by Incubate Fund Asia, with additional backing from QRG Investments & Holdings (Havells family office), IIMA Ventures, SIDBI and a group of angel investors including leaders from Helion, Steinberg India and other investor families.
Lumov develops orthopedic recovery and rehabilitation products including braces, orthoses, and mobility-support aids that cater to post-surgical care, chronic pain management and long-term mobility support. The products are designed in collaboration with orthopaedic specialists from leading hospital networks such as Manipal Hospitals, Apollo Hospitals, Sakra and AIG, ensuring clinical validation and suitability for Indian patients’ needs.
With the fresh capital, Lumov intends to expand its manufacturing base and increase production capacity, build out its distribution network into major cities (Delhi NCR, Hyderabad and Mumbai), and ramp up hiring across product development, sales, and operations. Its current core team of about 15 is expected to grow significantly.
Investors and company leadership highlight a widening demand in India’s musculoskeletal (MSK) care driven by growing surgical volumes, rising lifestyle-linked orthopedic problems, and an under-served rehabilitation/rehab-aid ecosystem. Lumov’s “surgeon-led, India-first, clinically-designed orthoses” approach aims to fill a gap between low-quality mass-market braces and expensive imported rehab aids.
“While diagnostics and surgery have improved, recovery and rehabilitation remain deeply fragmented our mission is to build the physical product-layer: high-quality orthoses and rehab aids tailored for India, helping people recover faster, stay mobile and lead pain-free lives.”
