FUJIFILM India has introduced the FW500 Clinical Chemistry Analyzer its first wet-chemistry system for the Indian market bringing high-throughput, compact design and sustainability features to mid-sized labs while broadening the company’s in-vitro diagnostics portfolio beyond its legacy dry-chemistry platforms.
Glimpse:
The FW500 can process up to 200 tests per hour, supports 95 sample positions and 72 reagent slots, offers continuous sample loading and reagent temperature control, consumes only about 1.5 litres of water per hour, uses reusable cuvettes and enables remote monitoring. FUJIFILM India says this meets growing demand in Tier-II/III lab segments and completes its offering of both dry and wet chemistry platforms.
In a strategic move to strengthen its diagnostics business in India, FUJIFILM India has announced the launch of its FW500 Clinical Chemistry Analyzer. This introduction marks the company’s entry into wet chemistry for clinical biochemistry, complementing its existing portfolio of dry-chemistry systems developed over four decades.
The FW500 is aimed at mid-sized clinical laboratories and offers a throughput of up to 200 tests per hour, with 95 sample positions and 72 reagent positions. The system supports continuous sample loading, reagent temperature-control, and a compact footprint designed for operational efficiency. According to FUJIFILM India, it uses only about 1.5 litres of water per hour and features reusable cuvettes to reduce waste, aligning with sustainability goals.
By integrating globally trusted biochemistry reagents from Wako and leveraging FUJIFILM’s engineering, the company says it now offers a complete biochemistry portfolio covering both dry and wet chemistry platforms. This launch is timely, as India’s in-vitro diagnostics market continues to grow, driven by expanding lab infrastructure, increasing preventive-health testing and demand from Tier-II/III cities.
Key executives highlighted the launch’s importance. Koji Wada, Managing Director of FUJIFILM India, stated the product underlines the company’s commitment to innovation and strengthening India’s healthcare ecosystem. Shivani Shah Kadu, National Business Manager In-Vitro Diagnostics, noted the FW500 as “a defining step” in expanding the diagnostics portfolio to provide laboratories with both dry and wet chemistry solutions under one brand.
“By blending over four decades of dry-chemistry expertise with globally trusted wet-chemistry reagents, we are offering Indian labs a robust, efficient and environmentally mindful solution the FW500 is a key step in our journey to empower diagnostics across India.”
