GE HealthCare Appoints Former Medtronic AI Chief Rodolphe Katra as Global Chief AI Officer

Katra will integrate devices, software and data across a portfolio that includes 134 FDA-authorised AI-enabled devices.
GE HealthCare has appointed Rodolphe Katra, previously global chief AI officer at Medtronic, as its new global chief AI officer. CEO Peter Arduini announced the appointment on LinkedIn.
The role
Katra will work to connect medical devices, software and data across GE HealthCare's portfolio to deliver better clinical insights and support personalised care. He brings 25 years of experience in medical technology, AI and R&D, and will report to Chief Technology Officer Taha Kass-Hout.
Context
He succeeds Parminder Bhatia, the company's first chief AI officer, who moved to Edwards Lifesciences in July 2026.
GE HealthCare says it has 134 FDA-authorised AI-enabled medical devices, the most in the medtech industry. It recently partnered with Mass General Brigham to explore generative AI in radiation therapy workflows. The company has a large manufacturing and engineering presence in India, including in Bengaluru.
