Narayana Health to Run 100-Bed Mission of Mercy Hospital on Kolkata's Park Street

The operations-and-management deal does not transfer ownership; commercial operations could begin within 12 months.
Narayana Hrudayalaya Ltd, which runs the Narayana Health chain, has signed an Operations and Management Agreement to run the 100-bed Mission of Mercy Hospital and Research Centre on Park Street, Kolkata.
The agreement is between Narayana Hrudayalaya, Mission of Mercy Hospital and Research Centre, and The Assemblies of God of North India. It is a management contract only — Narayana does not take ownership of, or lease, the hospital.
About the hospital
The hospital covers about 63,240 sq ft across a basement, ground floor and six upper floors. It already offers emergency and trauma care, diagnostic imaging, pathology, ICUs, critical-care ambulances and Level-II neonatal care. Commercial operations under Narayana could begin within 12 months, once both sides meet the agreed conditions.
Expansion drive
Founded in 2000 by cardiac surgeon Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty and headquartered in Bengaluru, Narayana Health operates 55 healthcare facilities in India, along with facilities in the Cayman Islands and the UK, with more than 5,900 operational beds. The group recently also announced plans to add 500 beds in Delhi-NCR by FY29.
