eSanjeevani Crosses 50 Crore Teleconsultations, Adds AIIMS Specialist Care

India's national telemedicine service now handles 2.5–3 lakh consultations a day in 15 languages; 57% of users are women.
eSanjeevani, the Union Health Ministry's free national telemedicine service, crossed 50 crore (500 million) teleconsultations on 15 September 2026, with the service now live in all 36 States and Union Territories.
The platform connects around 1.42 lakh Ayushman Arogya Mandir spokes with 19,473 hubs and runs 901 online outpatient departments, supported by 2,41,923 registered healthcare providers.
Who uses it
It now handles 2.5–3 lakh consultations a day, with a single-day peak of 6,30,315. Women account for 57.14 per cent of users, senior citizens above 60 for 16.25 per cent, and people aged 46 and above for 40.15 per cent of consultations. The service is available in English and 14 Indian languages.
Smarter and more specialised
An AI-based Clinical Decision Support System has been added to help doctors, and the platform is now linked with the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS-112). Specialist consultations are being expanded through AIIMS Jodhpur, AIIMS Jammu and AIIMS Patna, with more premier institutes to follow.
Built by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), eSanjeevani has grown from a hub-and-spoke pilot into population-scale digital infrastructure that brings doctors to villages that lack them.
