The private equity firm plans to buy 24.9% of the Noida-based listed hospital chain through primary capital.
Private equity firm Advent International has approached the Competition Commission of India (CCI) for approval to acquire a 24.9% minority stake in Yatharth Hospital and Trauma Care Services Ltd.
The ₹3,150 crore investment will come as primary capital through Rasmalai Ltd, a Cyprus-based investment vehicle. The deal is subject to CCI clearance and customary closing conditions.
About Yatharth
Founded in 2008 and headquartered in Noida, Yatharth is among the fastest-growing listed hospital chains in North India. It runs nine multi-specialty hospitals with 2,800 beds and has announced plans to take capacity to 3,250 beds.
Why the deal
The fresh capital is expected to fund Yatharth's expansion, while giving Advent a larger presence in Indian healthcare. In their filing, the parties said the transaction is not expected to alter competition in the market.
