KKR's Healthium and Temasek-Backed Romsons in Race for Majority Stake in BL Lifesciences

The 70–80% stake in the cardiac-surgery and critical-care device maker could value the deal at ₹1,800–2,000 crore.
Healthium Medtech, owned by private equity firm KKR, and Romsons Group, backed by Singapore's Temasek, have emerged as the leading bidders for a 70–80 per cent stake in Delhi-based medical device maker BL Lifesciences.
The deal is estimated at Rs 1,800–2,000 crore, though final terms are still being negotiated. KPMG is advising the company's promoters.
About BL Lifesciences
The fourth-generation family business makes equipment for cardiac surgery and critical care, along with surgical consumables. Its range includes perfusion systems, oxygenators, cath-lab kits and blood-management products supplied to hospitals across India.
Consolidation in medtech
KKR bought Healthium in 2024 for about Rs 7,000 crore, beating rivals including Mankind Pharma and ChrysCapital. Romsons is an established maker of medical consumables looking to broaden its portfolio. The contest reflects a wider wave of consolidation in India's medical devices sector.
