Telangana Has 3,998 PG and Super-Speciality Medical Seats for 2026-27

Medical colleges in Telangana will offer 3,998 postgraduate and super-speciality seats in the 2026-27 academic year, according to the seat matrix published by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
Most seats by speciality
MD General Medicine has the largest intake with 379 seats, followed by MD Anaesthesiology (359), MS Obstetrics & Gynaecology (330), MS General Surgery (328) and MD Paediatrics (290).
Other high-capacity programmes include MD Radio-Diagnosis (234 seats), MS Orthopaedics (230), MD Pathology (178), MS Ophthalmology (159) and MD Dermatology (153).
Super-speciality and diploma seats
Among DM courses, Cardiology has the most seats at 32, while Neurosurgery leads the MCh courses with 25 seats. Diploma courses account for only 16 seats across the state.
The figures matter for thousands of NEET PG candidates awaiting counselling. Students are advised to track notifications from the Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) for state-quota counselling schedules.
